A workshop, not a factory.
35 people under one roof. Drawing, cutting, welding, finishing and installation, all in-house since 1994.
Started in a boatyard shed.
Erik Berg and Thomas Vale opened the workshop in 1994 in a former boatyard shed by the harbour, with one welding set and a borrowed crane. Their first job was a spiral stair for a lighthouse keeper’s cottage. It is still in use.
Today the workshop is run by two of their former apprentices. The rules have not changed. Every piece is drawn before it is cut, every seam on a visible part is welded by one person from start to finish, and the people who build it also install it.
